The Lead Pharmacist - Store operations is the primary point of contact for the assigned pharmacy, responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing inventory, and leading the store team to deliver excellent customer service and business performance.
1. Pharmacy Operations & Patient Care
Attend prescriptions at the sales counter, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications.
Provide clear guidance on dosage, administration, and proper use of medicines.
Offer patient counselling on medication usage, side effects, and general health advice.
Handle customer queries, including drug information, therapy-related concerns, and home delivery services.
2. Inventory & Stock Management
Ensure 100% prescription fulfilment by coordinating sourcing of unavailable medicines/ healthcare items with the central purchase team.
Conduct inward stock inspection (quantity, MRP, batch number & expiry date).
Perform accurate stock entry and cross-verification with inventory records.
Maintain proper storage conditions, including temperature-sensitive drugs.
3. Store Operations & Coordination
Act as the primary point of contact for all store-related activities and communication.
Oversee end-to-end pharmacy operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning.
Coordinate delivery requests and ensure timely dispatch of medicines.
Ensure adherence to SOPs and company policies at all times
Assist in store-level sales and marketing activities to support business growth and customer acquisition.
4. Cash & Financial Management
Supervise billing and assist in cash handling at the counter when required.
Monitor cash flow and control operational expenses efficiently.
5. Team Management & Development
Lead, supervise, and motivate the store team to achieve performance targets.
Provide regular feedback and conduct on-the-job training.
Drive team productivity, customer service standards, and accountability.
6. Issue Resolution & Customer Experience
Act as the first point of contact for escalations related to customers, operations, or team issues.
Resolve concerns promptly to ensure high customer satisfaction and smooth operations.
7. Sales & Performance Monitoring
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction.
Analyze sales trends to identify opportunities for upselling and improving product movement.
Optimize stock and store performance based on data insights.
8. Reporting & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all state and national pharmacy regulations and company policies.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly performance reports to management.
Maintain proper documentation and audit readiness at all times.
B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution
Valid State Pharmacy License (mandatory)
4–6 years of experience in retail pharmacy / hospital pharmacy
Prior experience in store handling or team supervision is mandatory
Working knowledge of pharmacy management systems
